What is OktoberFEAST?

OktoberFEAST is a unique experience that brings Ontario craft brewers and gourmet food trucks together at Evergreen Brick Works to raise funds for the fight against cancer. This new event will unite brewers and beer enthusiasts, hot restaurants and foodies, and Canada’s most trusted cancer charity and cancer fighters for an unforgettable night out.

When and where is OktoberFEAST?

Set at Evergreen Brick Works, named one of the top ten geotourism destinations in the world by National Geographic, OktoberFEAST will take place on Friday, October 25th with doors opening at 5 pm.

What can I expect to happen at the event?

Inspired by traditions started in Munich, Germany over 200 years ago, the Canadian Cancer Society’s OktoberFEAST will capture the spirit of traditional Bavarian celebrations through food, drink and festivities. From lagers to stouts, fruit beers to ales, OktoberFEAST will have something to drink for everyone. There will also be a number of food trucks and vendors onsite serving up unique, delicious meals and plenty of Bavarian spirit complete with bonfires and beer wenches!

Where can I buy tickets?

Tickets are available in advance of the event at cancer.ca/oktoberfeast.

What is the Prost! ticket package?

The Prost! Package is a special VIP ticket that includes: admission, line bypass, a stein and VIP seating.

Is this an indoor or outdoor event?

The Evergreen Brick Works venue is sheltered, but it is considered an outdoor space. While you can always warm up next to the bonfire, we suggest you dress warmly.

Will the event be cancelled if it rains? Or snows??

OktoberFEAST will take place rain or shine.

How do I purchase food at the event?

Food can be purchased directly from our food truck vendors using cash. The vendors will then donate a portion of the proceeds from their sales to the Canadian Cancer Society.

How do I purchase drinks at the event?

If you purchase our special Prost! VIP ticket, you will receive 5 drink tickets. Otherwise, drink tickets can be purchased at the event using cash, debit or credit cards. The tickets will be $6 each or 4 for $20.

What size drinks will I get with the drink tickets?

The beer is a 14 ounce pour.

I have a food truck, brewery, or winery and want to participate, how do I get involved?

Please contact Susanne Morphet at 416-323-7147 or by emailing smorphet@ontario.cancer.ca.

Where do the funds raised at OktoberFEAST go?

The proceeds from OktoberFEAST help the Canadian Cancer Society have more impact, against more cancers in more communities than any other cancer charity in Canada. You are helping us to:

  • Fund life-saving cancer research. More people are surviving cancer than ever before. Today, 62% of people diagnosed with cancer will survive compared to only 25% in the 1940s when we began funding research.
  • Stop cancer before it starts. Our researchers are leading the fight to prevent cancer while we promote healthy lifestyles and advocate for policies that protect our health.
  • Ensure no one facing cancer is alone by offering compassionate services and support to those living with cancer and their families and friends.
  • Empower Canadians with information about cancer to help them make informed choices about their health.

A portion of the proceeds from this event will help fund a joint initiative between Evergreen Brickworks and the Canadian Cancer Society to develop a sun safety program for elementary school students.
