I am writing to bring to your attention a very important report, The 112th Midterm Congressional Scorecard for International Religious Freedom, published by Open Doors, USA. As your constituent, I would like to encourage you to become more involved with International Freedom (IRF) issues. Currently there are several IRF resolutions that are stuck in the Foreign Affairs Committee and have not been given a full floor vote. Please consider lending your support to move these resolutions to a vote. Open Doors has compiled a selection of the most important international religious freedom bills and resolutions of the 112th Congress. Each legislator was graded in this preliminary scorecard on their level of support for these initiatives. The scorecard has been published and released to Open Doors supporters to help them assess the level of support on IRF issues from their elected officials in Washington. Scores are given as percentages of the total number of items counted, 4 Senate resolutions and 4 House Resolutions. Prime sponsors of pro-IRF resolutions also receive "extra credit" which is two points as opposed to the one point given to regular cosponsors. I realize that delegates are not able to vote on these resolutions, and that some members have only been in office a short time, but I would appreciate you taking note of the current resolutions in committee and doing your part to move them to a vote. To review the 112th Midterm Congressional Scorecard go to http://advocacy.opendoorsusa.org/be-a-voice/congressional-scorecard/ For additional information specifically on persecution of Christians, please visit Open Doors USA at www.OpenDoorsUSA.org . You may email firstname.lastname@example.org to request updates on important IRF initiatives or to provide feedback on the scorecard. Thanks for your attention to an issue that I consider very important!
