about the walk
The Walk for Childhood Cancer Research (previously called Time to Fly) is one of Children’s Cancer Research Fund’s signature fundraising events. Each year The Walk brings together an inspiring community affected by childhood cancer. It allows them a space to connect, increase awareness for childhood cancer and raise money to fund research through peer-to-peer fundraising. The Walk relies on enthusiastic and dedicated supporters who fundraise for many months leading up to the event in September. Since its inception in 2003, The Walk has raised over $2.4 million dollars.
This 5K walk and 1K Kids’ Fun Run is held each September to celebrate Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. All participants are encouraged to fundraise to support the brightest scientists whose ideas are making the greatest impact for children with cancer.
The event consists of a full morning of family-friendly activities, a chance for group photos, a 5K community walk, a 1K Kids’ Fun Run and a short program to celebrate super fundraisers and share stories of hope and healing. Check back later for a full list of exciting new activities this year!
The Walk for Childhood Cancer Research 2020 is Saturday, September 19, 2020 at Como Regional Park in Saint Paul, Minnesota. If you are not able to attend in person, all supporters are encouraged to engage with The Walk by becoming a virtual fundraiser.
