My dear Family and Friends

As you well know, I have a passion for Animals and their welfare.  Since settling in Charleston I have been volunteering at the Charleston Animal Society 2-3 times a week.  My volunteer tasks are mainly with the Behavioral Unit where I walk the dogs and socialize with them intimately, fostering a trust/bond with humans.  Most of these lovely animals end up in this shelter through no fault of their own and many come with a mistrust of humans.  I love working with these sweet babies giving them all the attention,cuddles and scratches they want/need.  All they want is love! I leave the shelter after my shift having fallen a little bit in love with each dog I have had the privilege to spend time with.  I also help at adoption events where all breeds of dogs find the family they are meant to be with for the rest of their lives! And the families find and fall in love with the dog they've been looking for!

One of my jobs has been spending time just cuddling stray kittens! They too need to build a trust with human beings!

Each and every one of these special animals deserves a loving “Furever” home.  

Thanks to the Charleston Animal Society many get to realize that dream, and I am proud to be part of that team!
