Conservation International’s
18th Annual Los Angeles Dinner

On March 13, CI honored Skip Brittenham, CI's longest serving board member with 25 years and counting - with the Global Conservation Hero Award. The event not only reflected on the successes and progress CI has made over the last two decades but also marked the beginning of the leadership of the next generation who will work to make certain nature's relationship to our future is valued and safeguarded for many generations to come.

Jeffrey Katzenberg opened the program with welcoming remarks, comments about his relationship with CI and a touching introduction to Skip Brittenham. Peter Seligmann then shared his vision for CI and the need for a shift in the development paradigm and our trajectory. Peter inspired the audience with optimism and the challenge for change and commitment to conservation. After a tribute video to Skip, Harrison Ford shared how Skip brought him to CI, described his own commitment to CI and then introduced his friend and fellow warrior for conservation, Skip Brittenham. After Skip regaled the audience with a brilliant story about the global impact CI has made, he introduced his daughter, Kristina Brittenham, who closed the evening with her commitment to the next generation of conservation leadership.
