2022 Walk and Roll for Research

Coastal Bend Civitan Club

Civitan is a global organization of people who share a Servant’s Heart—a desire to give selflessly to people in need. Volunteers with Civitan build a sense of community through local projects and serve a greater cause by creating awareness and funding research for people with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities. In fact, Civitan International is the only service organization dedicated to this cause.

Civitan has a special emphasis on helping people with developmental disabilities. As part of that mission, clubs help fund the Civitan International Research Center. This world-class research center is dedicated to better treatment and understanding of disorders such as autism, cerebral palsy, brain cancer, and other illnesses of the human brain.

Civitan International was founded in 1917 with a sense of purpose that is as just as important today as it was more than a century ago. People of all ages, interests, and backgrounds can find a place to serve in Civitan. It’s an organization with a rich history and a vision for a better tomorrow.
