Welcome to my place...Kyndall Herring Georgia Junior CIvitan Governor
My name is Kyndall Herring. I am 14 years old. I am very active in my church and in Junior Civitan. I like to go shopping and be with my family. I go to school at Cook High School and I am a member of the Cook High Junior Civitan Club there as well as the Junior Civitan Community Club.
My Junior Civitan “Why” started 14 years ago when I was a baby in the Cook County Civitan Club. My “Why” in Junior Civitan also is that I love to help people with IDD’s (Intellectual Development Disabilities). In my eyes we are all the same even though they might act a little different than us, all of us have feelings and need to be needed.
Junior Civitan started in 1927 and was created by a school teacher in Maine. It gave teenagers a choice to help their community. Junior Civitan is all over the world. There are clubs in Europe, Canada, Germany as well as in the U.S. Every year for our Governor’s Update we get to go to Canada and participate in Sno-Do. Sno do raises money that goes to the Civitan International Research Center in Birmingham, Alabama. The Civitan research center is at the leading edge of work with neurological disorders such as autism, cerebral palsy, Rett syndrome, brain tumors, epilepsy and many more.
I went last year as the Georgia State Governor and raised over $2,500.00. So, I need your help again to support this goal this year. When I went last year I had a blast. I got to ride snow mobiles, go snow tubing and so much more.
