Welcome to My Personal Page
Hello, everyone. I’m Vinu Chandrasekar, Junior at George Washington High School, serving as 2024-2025 Fundraising Chair, Region 4 District, including clubs in West Virginia, Virginia, Maryland, and Pennsylvania. I have been a member of GWHS Jr Civitan club since my freshman year and also currently serving as a secretary and am honored to represent 2025 Junior Civitan program in Birmingham, Alabama at the All in Summit this coming Spring. Serving as a fundraiser for the Civitan International Research Center, this will be a time of fellowship, education, and service.
Civitan International is a worldwide association of local community service clubs whose mission is to strengthen local communities by providing a network of volunteers dedicated to serving individual and community needs, with an emphasis on helping people with developmental disabilities. The Civitan International Research Center, located on the campus of the University of Alabama at Birmingham, was created in 1989 with a $20 million pledge from Civitan International. Since opening in 1992, the CIRC has emerged as a world leader in the research and treatment of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (I/DD) which impact the lives of one in six people worldwide. Funding from Civitan International has resulted in the development of numerous research projects.
There are several ways that our George Washington High School Junior Civitan Club fundraise and collect items to support local service projects. All the funds I am raising go toward the Civitan International Research Center, dedicated in researching and treating intellectual and developmental disabilities and brain disorders. I am organizing a fundraiser for Civitan International Research Center with a goal of $1500.
I would like to thank everyone in advance for contributing to my campaign. Any support is greatly appreciated.
