Honeybees Need Our Help! Sign the Petition!
Our nation's number one food security guards, honeybees, are dying off by the millions. They may be small, but honeybees are directly responsible for pollinating more than one in three bites we eat.
This epidemic isn't a natural phenomenon – these bees are dying as a result of exposure to certain types of pesticides: neonicotinoids.
Senators Ben Allen and Scott Wiener have introduced legislation that would protect pollinators against these toxic pesticides that are contributing to bee colony collapse. SB 602 will inform retail consumers about plants and seeds that have been treated with neonicotinoid pesticides and will make those chemicals available for use only by trained professionals.
We need to pass the Pollinator Protection Act to protect our honey bees. Urge your Senator to vote yes today!

Dear State Senator,
In 2016, California beekeepers lost nearly 40 percent of their hives, a rate more than twice what is sustainable to maintain operations. In addition, wild bee populations have declined 23 percent between 2003 and 2008 in the Central Valley and other important agricultural regions of the nation. Given the staggering decline of honey bees in California, Senators Ben Allen and Scott Wiener have introduced legislation that would protect pollinators against toxic pesticides that are contributing to bee colony collapse. Senate Bill 602 will inform retail consumers about plants and seeds that have been treated with neonicotinoids.
