Tell Your California State Legislators: NO FREE PASS FOR BIG OIL!
AB 32 is California's landmark law to reduce carbon pollution, clean our air and fight climate change. The law is spurring innovation and creating jobs, while helping us transition to a clean and growing economy. It’s also generating revenue to help the communities hardest hit by pollution and climate change.
It’s no surprise that Big Oil is doing everything they can to avoid compliance with the law, which required them to reduce carbon emissions from transportation fuels starting January 1, 2015. Outrageously, some California lawmakers appear to be siding with Big Oil instead of voters and the public good. They're offering a free pass to oil companies by helping them avoid AB 32 compliance. This move would mean big profits for oil companies and major costs for Californians.
But here's the good news: Twice as many California legislators are already fighting back! They asked the California Air Resources Board and Governor Jerry Brown to stay the course on cleaning our air, reducing carbon pollution and transitioning to a cleaner energy economy.
Tell your elected representatives that voters like you support AB 32, and that you expect lawmakers to stand up for clean air and California families. Send your message now!
If you take action and have not already registered, you will receive periodic updates and communications from California League of Conservation Voters.
