Plastic bags are consistently in the top 6 most common litter items from beach and land cleanups. They’re dangerous to wildlife, and can break down into microplastics that end up in our drinking water, threatening our own health. They also contaminate our recycling and jam up our recycling machinery, increasing recycling costs across the board.
As of today, cities and towns across New England have already passed bag bans. Help us cut plastic pollution statewide – email your state representatives and ask them to help get a statewide bag ban law on the books.
If you take action and have not already registered, you will receive periodic updates and communications from Conservation Law Foundation.
Please act to ban plastic bags statewide
