Design is an exercise in problem solving. In Form and Function students investigate relationships between appearance and use—whether a chair or a teapot–in past and present cultures. Take it further! Given a set of parameters, students collaborate to build prototypes for inventive furniture and home-ware designs of the future. Think like a designer! Students participate in each stage of the design process to develop solutions for problems by investigating our collection of decorative arts objects.
