registration should facilitate voting, not create barriers.
Oregon’s voter registration systems need updating. In our
increasingly busy and mobile society, voter registration should be as
convenient and efficient as possible.
Motor Voter (HB 2177) is proposed state legislation to modernize the
way Oregon’s Election Division and Department of Motor Vehicles
(DMV) work together to register voters, transferring voter
registration data electronically and systematically, rather than
through hand-written paper registration cards. This will make it
easier for many more eligible voters to register and stay registered,
while ensuring more efficient and accurate upkeep of our voter rolls.
If you take action and have not already registered, you will receive periodic updates and communications from Common Cause.
