How fitting it is that on Sunshine Week, Maryland has the opportunity to further open government!
With SB 695/HB 755, sponsored by Sen. Jamie Raskin and Delegate Bonnie Cullison, sunshine will come to our state.
This bill reforms Maryland’s Public Information Act, which hasn’t been updated in 45 years. In these past 45 years, a culture of secrecy has developed around government documents. This has resulted in citizens facing many difficulties that prevent them from getting access to the documents that they have a right to access.
Tell your state legislators to stand with sunshine, and support SB 685/HB 755!
