Happy Birthday Michael Copps!

Victory! Comcast has officially dropped its plans to buy Time Warner Cable! After more than 800,000 people urged the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to block the merger, Comcast had no choice but to walk away.

Leading us in this win was Michael Copps, former FCC Commissioner turned Big Cable’s public enemy number one. He blew the whistle on this anticompetitive merger that would have created a huge telecom monopoly, driven up prices for consumers, and limited innovation.

Comcast delivered this news on Michael’s 75th birthday -- that’s one heck of a present! Join us in wishing Michael a happy birthday and congratulate him on this great victory!
