Please Support CUFI's 2021 Summit Legislative Agenda

Dear [Decision Maker],

As one of your constituents, I'm writing to urge you to support the three pieces of legislation that make up CUFI's 2021 Summit Legislative Agenda. Though COVID restrictions prevent us from meeting in Washington, I and millions of Christians across the country want to see the US-Israel relationship strengthened and are asking you to work to make that happen. Specifically, I'd like you to:

Support the FY 2022 State-Foreign Operations Appropriations Bill: As you know, this assistance ensures Israel's ability to defend itself and directly benefits the US as well. The current, House version of this legislation, includes the full $3.3 billion with no conditions as outlined by the 2016 MOU between the US and Israel. Unfortunately, the House version also currently includes $225M in economic support for programs in the West Bank and Gaza. As money is fungible, and the Palestinian Authority has yet to abandon its policy of paying stipends and pensions to terrorists, we oppose this aid. We urge you to support aid to Israel but oppose the $225 million in aid to the Palestinians until their governing authority ends its "pay-to-slay" policy.

Support the US-Israel Cybersecurity Cooperation Enhancement Act of 2021 (S. 1193/ H.R. 2659): This legislation would establish a grant program at the Department of Homeland Security to promote cooperative research and development between the United States and Israel on cybersecurity - allowing for an authorization of not less than $6,000,000 for each fiscal year from 2022 through 2026. As cybersecurity threats continue to grow, it is mutually beneficial for the United States and Israel to work in tandem to secure both nations against any cyber aggression.

Support The Hezbollah in Latin America Accountability Act of 2021 (S. 1651): This bill targets one of Iran's proxies, Hezbollah, by requiring detailed reporting of known operatives, recruiting methods, and resources of the terrorist group as they stretch across the globe to Latin America. We support its advancement in the Senate and urge Representatives from both sides of the aisle to see this bill introduced and advanced through the House.

Thank you for considering these vital pieces of legislation. I hope I can count on your support as we work to strengthen the alliance between the US and Israel and protect these two nations from their shared adversaries.
