What's New in 3.5

The 3.5¹ package contains enhancements to the existing product as well as reported issues that have been resolved in the publicly released versions² of the package.

Notes:
¹ The 3.5 package was formerly known as Common Ground 3.5. When Luminate CRM was rolled out in early 2011, the Luminate CRM label was applied retroactively to all installed Common Ground packages. Now, Luminate CRM 3.5 displays as the package name instead of Common Ground 3.5 The same is true for Common Ground 3.0, 2.0, and so on.

² Version Numbers 3.5, 3.7, and 3.8 were not released externally.

New Product Features and Enhancements in 3.5

Partial Soft Credits for Donations -- You can now assign partial soft credit to better recognize the amount or percentage of each person's involvement in a single donation. The partial soft credits appear in a contact's soft credit and combined giving summaries, just like full soft credits. To give a partial soft credit to a contact for a single gift, go to the Donation Contact Roles section of the Donation record. On the Edit Contact Roles page, use the Contact Lookup feature to locate the contact who should receive the partial soft credit. Select one of the soft credit Roles for this contact and then specify either a partial Amount or a percentage of the total gift. If you enter a partial amount, the percentage will automatically adjust and vice versa. For details, refer to Single Gift Entry.
Duplicate Account Checking -- Similar to the automatic duplicate checking process performed when creating a new contact, you can now automatically check for existing accounts when creating a new account by customizing the New button to include the appropriate software widget. Instructions for updating the New button in the Accounts interface are included in Upgrading to Common Ground 3.5.

Issues Resolved in Version Numbers 3.3 and 3.4

Accounts

You can now configure the New button in the account creation process to automatically check for possible duplicate accounts. (51234)
The page to associate a Contact with an Organization did not display messages, making the Associate Contact with ... button appear inoperative. Users will now see the appropriate message. (52047)

Batch Gift Entry

All potential matches with existing contact records where the contacts were entered without first names are now returned during a contact search in Batch Gift Entry. (44258)
An arbitrary value is no longer added to the Credit Card Number field if you do not enter a value in it. (46249)
All required fields in batch entries must now contain values in order to be committed. (47718)
The Donor is required error message now displays only one time for entries that do not have a contact associated with them. (48011)
The batch Record ID field has been renamed to System ID to avoid confusion with the standard Salesforce field of the same name. (48824)
The Gift Assets panel no longer displays when selecting an open donation in Batch Entry. (48902)
Users cannot set default values for fields during batches that are in progress. (48925)
An error no longer displays when the Clear Row button is clicked before entries have been checked. (48975)
The Address fields in the search form are now displayed without the values from the previous contact search in Batch Entry. (49057)
The failed row numbers are now correct in a failed batch commit. (49533)
The Formal and Casual Salutation Formula errors that occurred when saving changes to an Account have been fixed. (50559)
The Batch Fields widget no longer displays the error message about the batch being null when you are attempting to set a default value during Batch Entry. (50599)

You can now create a soft credit to a household contact for an organization gift in Batch Entry. (50790)
You can now commit batches with blank numeric fields. (51147)
You can now set the default for a Donation Type on a Batch or Batch Template layout to no default. (51268)
The Segment Codes in Batch Gift Entry are no longer case-sensitive and will not result in the batch failing to commit. (51400)
The name of the Next button that displayed on the creation page for a new pledge during Batch Gift Entry has changed to Create Pledge to let the user know that the pledge is created immediately instead of when the batch is committed. (51422)
The performance of searching by Donor ID when entering gifts in a Batch has been improved. (51461)
A button has been added to view open donations listed in Batch Entry on your standard Salesforce detail pages. (51467)
You can now create batch entries with a zero monetary, or 0$, amount. (51505)
The incorrect error message related to the previous commit no longer displays after the batch errors have been fixed and the batch committed again. (51519)
Batch entry validation now handles errors that can occur when a campaign is deleted after entering gifts but before the batch is committed. (51536)
When creating a new Batch from a template, clicking Cancel no longer displays validation errors. (51589)
The problem that caused the Batch Entry component to become unresponsive during a Donor ID search where an organization account was returned has been fixed. (51601)

Batch Entry now validates against selection of an inactive Campaign. (52282)

You must now create the Batch Template before you can create a batch from it in Batch Entry. (52339)
You no longer need to click the Pencil icon in the Batch Entry Donor ID search field to make it available. (52351)

Bulk Acknowledgement

New error messages have been added to display the underlying problem for failures that occur when updating records as acknowledged and receipted with the Bulk Acknowledgement tool. (52523)

Responded is the default status for Campaign Membership Criteria. (51112)

Donations

Grants and major gift created with the Received as Pledge stage are now created with the default designation instead of no designation. (50284)
The links to the contact pages under the Donation Contact Roles that displayed when creating a Major gift are now working correctly. (51562)

Utilities

Safeguards have been added to prevent the error about too many query rows that can occasionally show up on the Utilities tab. (52084)
