The Gabby's Goats team that is dedicated to our friend and neighbor, Gabby Buckman. Gabby Kraft Buckman passed away on May 27th, 2023 at the young age of 27 after a six year battle with brain cancer

Gabby was an amazing person with an incredible heart who gave to others constantly and unselfishly. Gabby was a loving and compassionate daughter, sister, granddaughter, cousin, niece, friend, and inspiring role model to all.

After graduating from Westfield High School in 2014, she was accepted into Quinnipiac University's 5-year Occupational Therapy Masters program. In 2017, during the pursuit of her degree, she was diagnosed with Glioblastoma yet determinedly achieved her goals of graduating, obtaining her Bachelors and Masters degrees, becoming a Certified Occupational Therapist, and accepting a job in the field, before succumbing to this deadly disease.

Gabby is survived by her parents, Cheryl and David Buckman; sister, Jackie Buckman; and a very large and loving exteneded family.

She was a friend to all people and animals (especially goats) she met. Gabby will be missed by so many, from her dearest Westfield and college friends to those who took a more active role in supporting her throughout treatments these last years of her life.

Gabby loved goats and recently adopted two goats, Gucci and Prima who joined Gabby's family and brought Gabby and her family peace and joy when they visited with her.

100% of the money we raise will be used by the Damon Runyon Cancer Research Foundation to fund innovative research by today's most brilliant young scientists, who are racing to find the causes and cures for all types of cancer.

We dedicate our run in the 2023 Runyon 5K at Yankee Stadium to Gabby who inspired us with her bravery, integrity and the way she lived her life.  In her name we will participate in the event and will raise as much money as we can to support the cancer research being done by the scientists funded by the Damon Runyon Organization.   

On Saturday, July 29, we will participate in the Damon Runyon 5K at Yankee Stadium – a unique fundraising run/walk that uses the Stadium as its course. We'll get to explore the concourses and ramps, climb stairs between levels, and take our own victory laps around the warning track that circles the field.
