Welcome to My Personal Page!
In August of 2011 I ran this 5K and it was the last 5K I ran. I got very sick after that. No I didn't have cancer, but I was hospitalized twice, had two procedures and even had a cancer threat that luckily turned out to be nothing.
When I ran this race I was in the best shape of my life. It has taken me almost 8 years to get back to that and I'm running this race to prove to myself that it wasn't this race that got me sick and I can finally get back to where I want to be both physically and mentally. It's been a very difficult 8 years and I need this.
Even though they did not pass away from cancer I will be running in honor of my sister Theresa and my father Bob. But I will be running this for me.
I do not like running but I need to run this one.
So... (Here's their generic statement)
On Saturday, May 11, I will participate in the 11th annual Damon Runyon 5K at Yankee Stadium – a unique fundraising run/walk that uses the Stadium as its course. I'll get to explore the concourses and ramps, climb stairs between levels, and take my own victory laps around the warning track that circles the field.
100% of the money I raise will be used by the Damon Runyon Cancer Research Foundation to fund innovative research by today's most brilliant young scientists, who are racing to find the causes and cures for all types of cancer.
Please make a donation that supports my run/walk.
You can choose the amount you want to give – all donations are gratefully received!
Thank you for your support.
