Welcome to My Personal Page!
On August 27th, 2001, the world lost an amazing woman I was lucky enough to call my grandmother to metastasized lung cancer. 19 years after her passing, I am running in her memory and honor to raise funds ($10 for each year she has been gone) for and awareness of important cancer research. On or before Sunday, October 4, 2020, I will participate in the Virtual Damon Runyon 5K for Cancer Research. I'll get to run wherever and whenever is convenient for me (socially distanced and masked), while raising funds for innovative cancer research.
100% of the money I raise will be used by the Damon Runyon Cancer Research Foundation to fund today's most brilliant young scientists, who are racing to find the causes and cures for all types of cancer. During these challenging and uncertain times, your support is more critical than ever to helping the Foundation achieve its goals in the fight against cancer. Many nonprofit organizations have been hit hard by the pandemic--particularly in life science where the academic and philanthropic focus has shifted (understandably so) to the SARS-CoV-2 virus. However, cancer remains a deadly disease that afflicts far too many loved ones around the world.
Many of the scientists that The Pershing Square Foundation supports through the Pershing Square Sohn Cancer Research Alliance start their careers as Damon Runyon Fellows. In working for the Foundation, it is an honor to continue this incredible pipeline of talented, daring, passionate, and dedicated cancer researchers. Please join me in helping to keep this pipeline robust.
If your current circumstances allow, please make a small donation that supports my run in honor of my grandmother Livia "Lee" Barrow. You can choose the amount you want to give – all donations are gratefully received and every little bit helps!
Thank you so much for your support.
