On Saturday, May 11, we will participate in the 11th annual Damon Runyon 5K at Yankee Stadium – a unique fundraising run/walk that uses the Stadium as its course. I'll get to explore the concourses and ramps, climb stairs between levels, and take my own victory laps around the warning track that circles the field.
This race has been close to my heart ever since my Pop died of lung cancer. I raced it again when my Nan lost her fight to bladder cancer, and I have run it every year since to raise awareness for the cause and to remember those who lost their lives to the disease.
My young nephew Cian will attempt his 2nd Yankee run as a 9yr old. If that’s not enough to make you want to donate to us, I don’t know what else is!
100% of the money I raise will be used by the Damon Runyon Cancer Research Foundation to fund innovative research by today's most brilliant young scientists, who are racing to find the causes and cures for all types of cancer.
Please make a donation that supports my run/walk.
You can choose the amount you want to give – all donations are gratefully received!
Thank you for your support.
