On Saturday, July 29th, our family participated in the Damon Runyon 5K at Yankee Stadium – a unique fundraising run/walk sponsored by the Damon Runyon Cancer Research Foundation that raises money to fund the cancer research of brilliant, creative, passionately committed early-career scientists working across the U.S. What a great event! Caroline and Luke both ran virtually, but Tim (running fast!) and Debb (walking) were able to join runners/walkers from across NYC who had come together to take on cancer. The course - up, down, and around Yankee Stadium - was super fun, but the energy of the participants was surely the highlight of the event!

Damon Runyon is currently funding just under 200 young scientists across the U.S., roughly 25% of whom are working in the Boston metropolitan area. These scientists are superstars - conducting high-risk, high-reward research and helping to drive forward the work to thwart cancer. Since Damon Runyon's founding in 1946, 13 Damon Runyon sicentists have during their careers won a Nobel Prize!
