Lauren's 40th Birthday Fundraiser for Parkinson's
Hi my people,
Well, I'm turning 40 this month (I type in April). Help me make it a fun celebration!
I'm running the Historic Downtown Wake Forest 3-mile route this year, and while I am cutting back on distance (chronic back pain makes this still a victorious distance for me - any running is good running!), there will be no shortage of fun. Thus, as I fundraise, I pledge to do ridiculous things to make a scene on my run. As you donate, my fundraising thermometer will add silly splashy things to my person for the duration of the run. Each milestone hit means another thing to add on. If I fundraise:
$40 - Well, I made the first donation, so I'm wearing my pink Team DPF socks.
$1,040 - I will run in a tutu
$2,040 - I will wear a birthday crown
$3,040 - I'll wear or carry a giant sign, side 1: I'm 40! Sing to me!, it's my birthday! side 2: RUNNING FOR PARKINSON'S
$4,040 - I'll run with a basket of lollipops and hand them out to passerbys (and other runners) along the route
$5,040 - I'll make my friends running with me wear tutus too
Lauren, why are you doing this!? Well, I think by now (nearly 13 years with the Davis Phinney Foundation!) you know that I love my people with Parkinson's, I care deeply about the work and mission of the Foundation, and I am running and fundraising to help all people with Parkinson's live well today.
Your donation will ACTUALLY encourage me and support me, but also, it will help make real life-changing work happen. Thank you so much, I truly look forward to looking ridiculous while I run. All in the name of helping my friends with Parkinson's.
Lauren/Peachy
PS - My boys are running the 1-mile route - their first organized run!
