1. A Farm Story with Jerry Apps, DVD
A Farm Story with Jerry Apps is a portrait of farm life seen through the eyes of a boy growing up in rural America in the 1930s and 1940s. Using archival photos and film, acclaimed rural historian and author Jerry Apps tells the story of growing up in Wild Rose, Wisconsin America's archetypical rural farming community. Apps evokes memories of a time when almost as many Americans lived on farms as in cities, and examines day-to-day rural life. Fieldwork was done with horses, cows were milked by hand, lanterns were the source of light, and working together was essential for survival. These were the experiences that created values of hard work, determination and community values that drive a generation of Americans who grew up on the farm.

1. America's Wild West, DVD "Butch Cassidy & Sundance"
Long before Paul Newman and Robert Redford immortalized them on screen, Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid captivated Americans from coast to coast. In the 1890s, their exploits robbing banks and trains in the West -- and then seemingly vanishing into thin air -- became national news and the basis of rumors and myth.
But who were Robert Leroy Parker and Harry Alonzo Longabaugh? How did they come together to form the Wild Bunch gang? And how did they manage to pull off the longest string of successful holdups in history while eluding the Pinkertons, the nation's most feared detective force? Separating fact from fiction, the latest installment of AMERICAN EXPERIENCE's popular The Wild West series explores the last pair of outlaws to flee on horseback into a setting sun.
2. America's Wild West, 3-DVD Set
The men and women who helped to tame the west were larger-than-life Americans-rebels, pioneers, and icons of the frontier culture. Both heroes and villains, they captured the imagination of a nation and inspired a stream of dime novels, television shows, and big-screen dramas. Step into the past with AMERICAN EXPERIENCE in this collection of eight documentaries, and uncover the real stories behind the legendary figures whose lives and exploits took center stage in the invention of the mythic Wild West.
