Urge your Representatives to support the Global Food Security Reauthorization Act!
A bipartisan group of U.S. Representatives has introduced legislation to reauthorize the Global Food Security Act of 2016. Introduced by Representatives Betty McCollum (D-MN) and Chris Smith (R-NJ), the legislation calls on Congress to extend the authority of the Global Food Security Act of 2016.. The Senate has already passed its version of the bill.
In 2016, Congress passed the Global Food Security Act with enormous bipartisan support. The legislation has enabled the U.S. government to improve the way food and nutrition programs are implemented and accounted for, enabling significant progress against hunger, malnutrition and poverty. The 2018 reauthorization would build upon these successes and continue U.S. commitment to fight against global hunger.
Christ calls us to feed the hungry and partner with our neighbors to find solutions to hunger (Matt. 14:13-21). As a person of faith, please take a moment to urge your Representatives to support the Global Food Security Reauthorization Act.
