Dan Barash, our beloved chef, dead head, hockey fan, father and husband lost his fight to lung cancer on Sunday, March 11, 2018.
From the time he was diagnosed in December 2014 Dan endured 12 rounds of chemo, six rounds of immunotherapy, 18 months of targeted therapy, 4 rounds of radiation, a lobectomy and a craniotomy.
All the while he lived his life to fullest – working, traveling, watching his son play sports and spending precious time w/ friends and family.
In the end this disease took everything from Dan even though he fought his hardest. It sucks, but I know Dan's generous, kind, thoughtful, funny soul will live on for us and through us forever.
It’s frustrating, sad and unfair, which is why TEAM DAN will remain united in continuing to fight for the much needed research that the Winship Cancer Institute does to cure, treat and prevent cancer.
While Dan is no longer with us, we all know and love people who continue to fight the good fight with the help of Winship. In Dan's name and the name of those still fighting, let's raise some serious cash and link arms in our shared goal to eradicate cancer!
I can’t wait to get the team together again in honor of a man we all loved so much. "You know our love will not fade away..."
