As you may know, the HikingDragon, aka Ron Rose, is involved in raising Health Awareness (HikingDragon on Facebook, @HikingDragon on Instagram) specifically regarding Heart Health and hoping to raise funds to help the Clinical Research Unit in Cardiothoracic Surgery at Emory University in Atlanta. Emory is one of the leading research hospitals in Cardiovascular disease in the nation.
The HikingDragon was created after a personal experience involving some incredible doctor's, the blessing of people caring, and a great team of Cardiothoracic surgeons from Emory. Simple tests led to detection of a 95% blockage. The HikingDragon's mission is hike the Grand Canyon, rim to rim, in a single day. It's the Dragon's hope that family, friends and other members of the community will share in his journey on Facebook or @HikingDragon and perhaps be motivated to take a close look at their own Heart/general health and help in this fundraising effort.
The Clinical Research Unit at Emory is funded exclusively by private donations until such time as research results attract Grant funding, sometimes taking years. This Personal Fundraising Page allows you to donate to to this important Research with 100% of the funds collected going directly to life saving work and all donations being tax deductible.
Research is where work begins to find breakthroughs to help cure heart disease, the #1 killer in the nation. Without the support of people like you, important research may go unfunded.
