Frequently Asked Questions

What is Personal Fundraising?

Personal fundraising is an opportunity to increase your impact for Winship Cancer Institute by creating your own web page and raising funds.

What type of Personal Fundraising campaign should I create?

Want to honor or memorialize a friend, family member, or caregiver? Start a tribute fundraising page. Celebrate your birthday or special occasion this year by creating a milestone fundraising page. You can also create your own personalized page in the DIY Get Creative registration section.

I've never made a webpage before. Is it difficult?

Creating your Personal Fundraising Page is fast, easy, and fun. We’ve done all the design. You write what you want to say, add the photos you want, and we’ll take it from there. Choose one of our event suggestions on the greeting page (Tribute, Celebration, and DIY) and follow the step-by-step registration process.

What do I need to create my Personal Fundraising Page?

To create your Personal Fundraising Page, you will need a valid email address and a fundraising goal!

How much of the money I raise will go to research and care?

All of it. 100 percent of funds you raise through your Personal Fundraising Page will support research and patient care programs of the Winship Cancer Institute.

Are Personal Fundraising Page donations secure?

Yes. We use a secure server to process all the gifts we receive online. Data is encrypted using SSL (Secure Socket Layer) before transmission.

Can I personalize my Personal Fundraising Page, or update it after I've created it?

Absolutely! Your Personal Fundraising Page is for telling your story. You can add a personal photo, write what you want, and change or update it as often as you want. Just login and visit your Participant Center once your project is registered.

How can people find my Personal Fundraising Page?

Your page will have a unique web address (URL) that you can send to family and friends or post on other websites or through your social media pages. People can also go to the Personal Fundraising Page homepage for the Winship Cancer Institute and click on the “Support A Fundraiser” button on the top of the page. They can search by your name or a description of your fundraising event.

Can I change my username or password? What if I've forgotten them?

Go to the Personal Fundraising Pages homepage and click on Login button in the top right of the page. Click on the “Forgot Username and/or Password?” link at the right in the box.

How do I send out emails through my Personal Fundraising Page?

From the Personal fundraising homepage, Login to access the Participant Center. You will see a button that is labeled "Send email." You can choose from an existing template email or create your own personal message to send to friends and family. Keep in mind, you can also copy your fundraising link and template language into your own personal email account (Outlook, Gmail, etc.) and send from there.

How can I see who has given a gift through my page?

From the Personal Fundraising Pages homepage, Login to access the Participant Center. You can see your Fundraising Progress tracked in dollars and percent towards your fundraising goal.

How do I participate in my company Corporate Matching Gift program?

Does your employer (or your spouse's employer) have a matching gift program? If so, you can ask your company to match your support for Emory. You can double or even triple the value of your donation simply by notifying your employer of your gift. Emory maintains a database of many matching gift companies. You may need to provide Emory’s Employer Identification Number (EIN) on the form. That number is 58-0566256. To see if your company is listed, click here.
