Team Kyle Waterman
On February 23rd, I'm riding to cure Friedreich’s ataxia (FA), a debilitating, life shortening neuromuscular disease. I’ll ride with local FA families, friends and cycling enthusiasts to redefine what is possible in FA research.
rideATAXIA was founded by Kyle Bryant, a young man with FA. Kyle redefined what was possible in his life when he took up recumbent cycling. He says after training for and completing his first century ride, "I can't even walk down the street, but I rode 100 miles in a day. After that the sky was the limit." Since 2007, rideATAXIA has raised over $7 million to fund FA research progress.

I will be participaing in this event to support my grandson, Kyle Waterman, age 21, who was diagnosed with this illness in 2009. So make it a day of fun and come to ride or walk Huntington Beach. Or better yet, volunteer. This year I will be participating in the ride. Last year I volunteered and had a great time meeting the participants and just hanging out with the volunteers.
All particpants receive a great lunch provided by Outback and Lazy Dog. Lunch is free if you are a rider or walker.
If you can't participate in the ride/walk, your donation of any amount is always appreicated.
And remember any donation is appreciated to help all who may have this illness.
Join me in supporting the urgent pace of that research. Donate. Together we will cure FA!
