Welcome to TEAM KENDALL!
My name is Kendall Harvey and I am the captain of Team Kendall. I live in Austin, Texas. I was diagnosed with Friedreich's Ataxia (FA) in August 2013 at the age of 25. I am now 31, and a mother to two BEAUTIFUL children.
FA is a debilitating, life-shortening, degenerative neuro-muscular genetic disorder. On Team Kendall, our mission is to raise awareness about FA. We aspire to be a contributing partner on the journey to find a cure. On April 6th, my team and I will ride with rideTAXIA in Dallas at the University of North Texas. We will be joined by several local FA families, friends and cycling enthusiasts riding as a team to redefine what is possible in FA research.
rideATAXIA was founded by Kyle Bryant, a young man with FA. Kyle redefined what was possible in his life when he took up recumbent cycling. He says after training for and completing his first century ride, "I can't even walk down the street, but I rode 100 miles in a day. After that the sky was the limit." Since 2007, rideATAXIA has raised over $7 million to fund FA research progress.
Join us in supporting the urgent pace of this life-saving research by donating, sharing our story, or riding with us. Every effort makes an impact, and every penny counts. No donation is too small. Be a part of the journey to find a cure and together we WILL cure FA! - See more at www.teamkendall.org!
