rideATAXIA Philly 2019

Team Christina - The Purple Caped Crusaders

Team Christina is cycling in rideATAXIA on October 13, 2019. rideATAXIA offers route lengths for all cycling abilities with a 4 mile, an 8 mile, a 25 mile and a 50 mile course. Join us for a great ride with beautiful Fall scenic views and for the best post-ride food and beer around, catered by Outback Steakhouse, Carrabba's Italian Grill, Victory Brewing Company, and Bonefish Grill at Montgomery County Community College. And it is all for a great cause- the Friedreich's Ataxia Research Alliance (FARA).

Growing up, my sister Christina and I loved to ride our bikes throughout our neighborhood. Unfortunately, Christina has been diagnosed with Friedreich’s ataxia (FA), a debilitating, life shortening neuromuscular disease. I ride in honor of my sister Christina along with local FA families, our extended family and friends, as well as cycling enthusiasts, to redefine what is possible in FA research.

Christina is my superhero, and I work hard every day to find a cure for her. Team Christina proudly wears purple capes, and rides in the 8 mile race. However, feel free to choose whichever course works best for you! If you are unable to ride, we would still love to see you there! Sign up as a volunteer, or hold up Race Signs with my mom, dad and brother Matthew! Once the Race is over, Team Christina will sit and enjoy a celebretory lunch together.
