Current Relief Update
Over 12 states affected by the recent hurricane
Feed The Children is responding immediately by providing assistance to Hurricane Irene victims in North Carolina and Virginia through its partner agencies on the ground.
Three truckloads (128,877 pounds) of water have been delivered to Feed The Children’s partner agency for distribution in the Jackson, North Carolina area and two more truckloads are on their way to Warsaw, Virginia.
Additional disaster relief items are being assembled and are ready for shipment into affected areas as soon as requests are received and roads are open."As we do in every disaster, Feed The Children is packing ready-to-eat snacks and meals along with cleaning supplies and storage items to help in recovery efforts," said Feed The Children spokesperson Tony Sellars. "Through our many partner agencies on the ground in all of the states hit by the storm, we will continue to monitor recovery efforts and provide help where it is needed."
Items needed for disaster response include water, diapers, baby food, ready-to-eat meals, cleaning supplies and tools. Companies interested in making donations can contact the Feed The Children procurement department at 800-627-4556. Monetary donations to provide disaster relief can also be made at 800-627-4556.
