The Fur-Bearers challenge cub killing in judicial review
UPDATE (January 5, 2018): The Fur-Bearers have filed for appeal of the court decision that sided with the Conservation Officer Service's authority to kill wildlife that isn't posing a threat. Our legal team is confident that our appeal has grounds, and we're expecting that this could be a game changer for wildlife in British Colubmia. We’re seeking a judicial review to determine if the
Conservation Officer Service acted within their authority when a bear cub was
killed last year – and the costs are adding up.
Legal fees, filing fees, and the resources required to mount
this effort have cost us $8,100 as of July 31, and that number may rise to nearly
