Welcome to Deb's SOIP page!
Why do I walk? In 2005, I started working in research as a clinical research coordinator in the center for cancer and blood disorders. Shortly after that, I was fortunate enough to take over breast cancer research and spent the next 10 years working in the area of breast and gynecologic cancers. When the opportunity came, I decided to move to leadership in the area of clinical research. This work still allows me to work with the cancer services line and support all medical research in the facility as well. I'm blessed to have had 16 years in medical research (23 at GHS) and every day I see the impact of the funds raised from SOIP at work. This isn't the only reason I walk - I walk for all the women I have met along the way. I walk for the survivors - my friends, mentors and co-workers who fought and won. I walk for my family members. I walk for my wife and my daughters who I hope never have to fight the battle. I walk because I believe that we can do better and we can make a difference!
