Bolivian Cooking Class & Wine Pairing with GW Alumni

Location

Online via Zoom

Event Description
Bolivian food-wine

Join fellow alumni for an exciting and collaborative event featuring GW alumni in the food and wine industry. María Heléna Iturralde Costa, SEAS BS ‘04, owner of Saya Salteña in DC, will walk participants through a cooking demonstration of a traditional Bolivian dish - Sajta de Pollo (vegetarian substitute available).

Alongside this cooking demo, Tealye Long, CCAS BA '15, and Alison Van De Berghe, ESIA BA '15of Chufly Imports, will walk participants through a tasting of three Bolivian wines, how those wines pair with the dish being prepared, and a little history about Bolivia's centuries-old winemaking tradition.

Please use this link to purchase the package of the featured wines. The unique Bolivian spices required for the recipe will be included with each wine package and can be purchased separately as well. The wine and spices must be ordered by June 10 to guarantee receipt before the event. Those interested in cooking along are invited to purchase the ingredients for the dish on their own, and an ingredients list will be provided in the registration confirmation email. Please note that Chufly Imports is not able to legally sell wine to the following states: Alabama, Arkansas, Mississippi, Delaware, Oklahoma, Rhode Island, Utah.
