Fashion on Film: The Next Black

Thursday, September 24th
6pm EDT

Join our museum community online for a discussion of The Next Black, a documentary about designers, innovators, and leaders who are shaping the future of what we wear. Special guest Kelly Cobb, associate professor of fashion and apparel studies at the University of Delaware, will lead the conversation.

About the Film

New technologies, sustainability concerns and innovative minds are transforming our clothes. The Next Black documentary film introduces the designers, innovators and leaders who are shaping the future of clothing. These creative people from around the globe are probing beyond what we currently wearing to explore how we produce clothes, how we interact with them, and how we care for them. Each brings a fresh perspective on the future of the clothing industry -and all of them are using their passions to fuel change. This is not a film about what’s new, it’s about what’s next. (AEG, 2014, 60 minutes)
