Celebrating 200 Years: Fearless Science

Event Description 

Kick-off National Public Health Week with the premiere screening of the documentary film, "Fearless Science," about Hurricane Maria. This documentary showcases the research conducted by Milken Institute School of Public Health scientists to ascertain the official death count caused by the Cat 4 storm that slammed into Puerto Rico on September 20, 2017. Led by Dean Lynn Goldman and Professor Carlos Santos-Burgoa, this film highlights the importance of understanding public health disasters and the innocent lives so tragically affected.

Following the screening of the documentary, Dean Goldman will lead a conversation with GWSPH Professors Carlos Santos-Burgoa, Elizabeth Andrade, and Anne Goldman. 

This event will take place via Zoom and log-in information will be sent closer to the event. Please note that this event will take place at 5:30pm ET.
