2020 Presidential Election Event Series: A Conversation on National Health Reform in a Pandemic Era (Online)

Event Description

Hear from GW alumni and GW Milken Institute School of Public Health professors on the current healthcare policy and public health issues that are highlighted during the 2020 Presidential Election and the COVID-19 global health pandemic.

The first half of the conversation will look at healthcare policy issues, moderated by Sara Rosenbaum, J.D., the Harold and Jane Hirsh Professor of Health Law and Policy and Founding Chair of the Department of Health Policy at GW's Milken Institute School of Public Health. The conversation will feature alumni experts Stuart Portman, GWSPH MPH '15, Health Policy Advisor at U.S. Senate Committee on Finance, and Hemi Tewarson, GWSPH MPH '98, LAW JD '98, Visiting Senior Policy Fellow at Duke-Margolis Center for Health Policy.

The second half of the conversation will look at public health policy issues, moderated by Jeffrey Levi, GWSB PhD '99, Professor of Health Policy & Management at GW's Milken Institute School of Public Health. Alumni experts Dilipan Sundaramoorthy, GWSPH MPH '18, Legislative Aide to U.S. Senate Minority Leader Charles E. Schumer and Hemi Tewarson will join Professor Levi for this part of the conversation. 

This event is open to all GW alumni and will take place over Zoom, but please note this is an off-the-record conversation.
