On November 7, one of the worst typhoons in history hit the Philippines with flooding and landslides. Nearly 4,000 people are confirmed dead, and an estimated 4 million have been displaced from their homes. Our local partner agency, Kaisahang Buhay Foundation (KBF), has worked quickly to ensure the safety of children and families at our project sites. Unfortunately, the destruction to facilities and supplies was very grave. One childcare center lost its roof entirely, and our partners were left without items like diapers, formula, lights and soap.
We are praying for the people of the Philippines, and ask our Holt families and friends to do the same.
Although Holt is not a relief organization, we would like to send what immediate assistance we can. You can help children and families affected by Typhoon Haiyan by donating to the Philippines Relief Fund today. A full 100 percent of your donation will go directly to our partner, KBF, to use where most needed.
For sponsors concerned about their sponsored child, please contact Sharon Grant at firstname.lastname@example.org or Susan Lofton at email@example.com. Families in the process of adopting from the Philippines should contact their social worker.
