Horse Handling Groundwork classes focus on the study of horse behavior and body language to improve your horsemanship skills using patience, horse sense, and mutual trust. Horses are handled in a relaxed, well-organized environment with small class sizes. Students work in pairs with assigned Longmeadow horses, supervised by the instructor at all times.
The four-week session is designed to teach you how to communicate with horses of varying ages, breeds, temperament, and skill. The sessions are tailored to the class experience level and can include topics such as:
- applying and releasing pressure
PAYMENTS ARE NON-REFUNDABLE. If you decide not to attend the class date in which you are registered, your payment will be used for the animals in our non-profit facility. You may also switch to another class session if there is still room in that class. If you are uncertain whether this class is the right fit, you are welcome to audit the full course for $200.
