Why?
A little bit about us…One of our twins was born with hydrocephalus. When I was 20 weeks pregnant the doctor told us that one of our girls had hydrocephalus and were told she would never walk or talk. The first 5 months of life were filled with numerous hospital stays, surgeries and countless doctors visits. She had her first brain surgery at 7 weeks old and had several shunt revisions by the time she was 5 months old. One of the first things our neurosurgeon gave us was a Hydrocephalus Association pamphlet. I was so grateful to have received the information and to get connected with the HA. I can’t tell you what a lonely path it can be but having the support and knowledge was a tremendous help. We (Team Avery) attended our first Hydrocephalus Association WALK that year, in 2009 and have been fundraising for the HA ever since. We firmly believe in the support, education and funding that HA puts towards research to better lives for people with hydrocephalus and ultimately a cure. It ends up that Avery does walk and talk, sings and dances, and LOVES archery. Thank you for joining us in this fun archery fundraiser for such an amazing organization. We cannot thank you enough!
