Welcome to TEAM CAM BAM!
Why do we WALK?
Our beloved son Cam'ren aka Cam Bam was diagnosed with Hydrocephalus at 35 weeks while still in utero due to a brain bleed that occurred. He is currently 3 months old and has had one brain surgery. Our Cam Bam, who is such a joyful boy and so resilient has inspired us to join the fight towards ending Hydrocephalus. This event is very dear to our hearts, as we (his parents) along with all his family & friends are walking on his behalf.
WE believe no infant, child, or adult should live in constant fear of needing yet another brain surgery or face any complications that could be caused along the way.
WE believe that every person who joins the fight against hydrocephalus can have a lasting impact in the lives of every person diagnosed, today and in the future. You can also inspire and/or educate another individual to join the fight!
WE believe that every dollar we raise for research will have a ripple effect and could be THE dollar that changes everything for a family who has been affected by Hydrocephalus.
WE believe we can be apart of the change!
As you may know, anyone at any age can develop hydrocephalus, a life-altering, life-threatening condition caused by an abnormal accumulation of cerebrospinal fluid (CSF), resulting in pressure on the brain. The most common treatment for this condition is brain surgery to implant a medical device called a shunt. Sadly, a shunt is not a cure, as device failures are very common and lead to multiple brain surgeries over a patient’s lifetime, in some cases 100 or more.
