Why Do I WALK?
No one should live in constant fear of needing another brain surgery. Joining the fight against hydrocephalus can make a lasting impact on those diagnosed today and in the future. Every dollar raised for research could be the one that changes everything for a family affected by this condition.
I WALK to End Hydrocephalus, a life-threatening condition caused by a buildup of cerebrospinal fluid, resulting in pressure on the brain. The main treatment involves brain surgery to implant a shunt, which has a 50% failure rate in children within the first two years.
Diagnosed at 10, I’ve endured 111 brain surgeries. Though hidden, hydrocephalus has left a lasting impact, causing chronic pain, nerve pain, migraines, fatigue, and nausea daily. A shunt isn't a cure; it merely postpones the next surgery. This uncertainty is why I WALK.
Please consider making a donation. Together, we can raise awareness and fund vital research, improving the quality of life for me and others living with hydrocephalus.
Your support can make a difference. Donate today to help bring hope and better lives to those affected by hydrocephalus.
