Team Henry
Thank you for being a part of Team Henry!
Why do WE WALK?
We walk for Henry, but also the 1M+ other individuals in the US living with Hydrocephalus.
We believe that the unknown around HS development shouldn’t be the norm.
We believe that sharing information about hydrocephalus will help bring awareness and resources to help drive research and resources to the ground breaking approaches like those done at STL Children’s Hospital to better the lives of the families dealing with HS.
We believe that every family dealing with HS has a unique challenge that being a part of a shared community will help foster relationships and better long term outcomes.
We believe that every dollar we raise for research will have a ripple effect and could be THE dollar that changes everything for a family affected by hydrocephalus.
As you may know, anyone at any age can develop hydrocephalus, a life-altering, life-threatening condition caused by an abnormal accumulation of cerebrospinal fluid (CSF), resulting in pressure on the brain. The most common treatment for this condition is brain surgery to implant a medical device called a shunt. Sadly, a shunt is not a cure, as device failures are very common and lead to multiple brain surgeries over a patient’s lifetime, in some cases 100 or more.
