As you may know, hydrocephalus is a life altering, life threatening condition, caused by an abnormal accumulation of cerebral spinal fluid, resulting in pressure on the brain. Davey was diagnosed with this at 14 months old. The most common treatment for this condition is brain surgery to implant a medical device called a shunt, which has a 50% failure rate in children within the first two years. Davey has already had many shunt revisions and a total of 54 brain surgeries to manage his hydrocephalus and complications ! He is the strongest little super hero I know but  A shunt is not a cure!!! No one should have to live like this.
