Please join us and our team and WALK with us to End Hydrocephalus! This event is very dear to our hearts as we are walking on behalf of our daughter, sister, granddaughter, niece, cousin and friend Ashley who is living with hydrocephalus and the constant fear that her shunt could fail at any moment. As you may know, hydrocephalus is a life altering, life threatening condition, caused by an abnormal accumulation of cerebral spinal fluid, resulting in pressure on the brain. The most common treatment for this condition is brain surgery to implant a medical device called a shunt, which has a 50% failure rate in children within the first two years. A shunt is not a cure as its consistent failures lead to multiple brain surgeries over a patient’s lifetime, in some cases 100 or more. Ashley was diagnosed with hydrocephalus at 17 weeks in utero and has had 10 brain surgeries. This is unacceptable and this is WHY WE WALK. Please join us and our team to raise much needed funds or donate and help us reach our goal. Your donation is greatly appreciated and will go far in helping us find a cure and improve the lives of people living with hydrocephalus.

2024 will be the 12th year our team has participated in the Charlotte WALK to End Hydrocephalus.  Our friends and family don't get to just participate.  They are a big part of making the WALK happen year after year.  We are so grateful for all the support you have given us over the past 11 years. Ashley and the Rockin' Ruths has raised more than $96,000.  Thank you for all of your support!   We will continue to fight year after year until there is a cure.  HA needs our support to continue to fund research that will one day find a cure!
