Tyler's Warriors
Welcome to Our Team Page!
As many of you may know, I was diagnosed at the age of 2 with hydrocephalus and have undergone 53 hydrocephalus related surgeries to date. I hope you will join us and our mission for a cure one day. My hope is to one day live without a medical device to keep me alive.
Please join our team and WALK with us to End Hydrocephalus! This event is very dear to all our hearts, last year even during the hardest of times with COVID and going virtual our team raised $36,428, I can't wait to see what we can do this year. We truly hope to be in person at Belmont Lake State Park celebrating together.
As you may know, hydrocephalus is a life altering, life threatening condition, caused by an abnormal accumulation of cerebral spinal fluid, resulting in pressure on the brain. The most common treatment for this condition is brain surgery to implant a medical device called a shunt, which has a 50% failure rate in children within the first two years. A shunt is not a cure as its consistent failures lead to multiple brain surgeries over a patient’s lifetime, in some cases 100 or more. This is unacceptable and this is WHY WE WALK. Please join our team, donate and help us reach our goal. Your donation is greatly appreciated and will go far in helping us find a cure and improve the lives of people living with hydrocephalus.
Thank you!
