Welcome to Lesli Anderson's HA WALK Page
At the age of 45 I was diagnosed with congenital hydrocephalus. My life has not been the same since then! Hydrocephalus is a life altering, life threatening condition, caused by an abnormal accumulation of cerebral spinal fluid, resulting in pressure on the brain. The most common treatment is brain surgery to implant a medical device called a shunt, which has a 50% failure rate in children within the first two years. A shunt is not a cure as many patients endure multiple brain surgeries throughout their lifetimes, some more than 100. I am on my second shunt now and have been for 16 years! Imagine life knowing that the next brain surgery lurks around the corner because your shunt could fail at any moment. No one should have to live like this. This is WHY I WALK and also why I need your support. I am proud of all the financial assistance we have raised over all the years that I have been involved with the Hydrocephalus Association. These funds are given for research and education so that everyone knows that we are working to stop hydrocephalus for good! Please donate and help me reach my goal. Your donation will go far in helping us find a cure and improve the lives of people living with hydrocephalus. Any amount you can give is greatly appreciated!
Thank you!
