CENTRAL PA WALK TO END HYDROCEPHALUS SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 22, 2024
Hello friends and family!
September is Hydrocephalus awareness month. As many of you know our son Noah was diagnosed with hydrocephalus at two months old. After diagnoses, Noah had one Endoscopic Third Ventriculostomy (ETV) brain surgery that was unsuccessful. Followed by a ventriculoperitoneal (VP) shunt placement on Thanksgiving Day 2015.
There is NO CURE other than brain surgery.
And the malfunction rate of these surgeries - estimated 50% of shunts in the pediatric population fail within two years of placement and repeated neurosurgical operations are often required. FOR LIFE
The core technology used to develop the shunt has not changed significantly since the 1950’s.
One out of every 770 babies will develop hydrocephalus, making it as common as Down syndrome and more common than spina bifida or brain tumors.
OUR son and every single person effected by this condition DESERVES MORE.
And that is why I ask you for help!
Help us raise money to find a cure.
Your donation is greatly appreciated and will go far in helping us find a cure and improve the lives of people living with hydrocephalus.
$1 can make a difference.
Thank you so much!
