Two of my most recent surgeries forced me to spend two weeks in critical care, two weeks in inpatient rehab, and eight weeks in outpatient rehab. During this period, I was unable to walk, talk, or eat. Imagine this life. Imagine a life not knowing when your next brain surgery could be since your shunt could fail at any moment.
